P.M.D. is committed to making certain your decommissioned equipment is processed and recycled safely and efficiently. As an E-Rail safe certified dismantler, our trained dismantling experts will provide safe and timely processing, ensuring your site is returned to an acceptable condition upon completion. Storage and Distribution
Our 150,000 square foot storage site in Indianapolis, IN. Is equipped to handle your commercial storage needs. Our transloading and cross-dock availability, in combination with our 25 ton overhead gantry crane offers a suitable location for your storage needs. Our experienced staff is available 24/7 to segregate, grade / inspect, repackage and ship by rail and/or truck as necessary. Our distribution center is centrally located in the Midwest, allowing for shorter transit times to the large hubs, such as Chicago, St Louis and Lousiville. For more than 80 years, founder Steven H Patton’s family has been involved in the railroad and scrap industries. Dating back to 1940, the Patton’s have been involved in scrap processing, railroad freight car and component rebuilding and also the dismantling of scrap railcars. Mr. Patton worked for two different railway supply companies before founding his first company, Indy Rail Connection, Inc. in 1999. This company was established as a railway component management and supply corporation. Working with Gerdau (one of the largest steel producers in the world), Mr Patton formed an alliance that would take him many years into a relationship with Gerdau, continuing on to this day. Working as their management and marketing arm in North America, representing their rail interests.
In 2017, Mr Patton formed a new division under the umbrella of the parent company, Patton Mobile Dismantling, Corp (PMD, corp) performs the operational needs of Indy Rail Connection, Inc., providing components to the sales and marketing division, as they are removed from railcars. They again act as a partner with Gerdau, providing exclusive services to them in railcar dismantling. Currently, IRC / PMD have locations in Indianapolis IN and Petersburg, VA while continuing to process railcars in numerous mobile locations.
